OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Loyann M. (Irons) Burton, age 55, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Geneva, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, surrounded by loved ones and friends at her home, after a courageous battle with Scleroderma.
She is survived by her precious son, Dylan Clark Burton of Overland Park; devoted mother, Anna Irons of Overland Park; and brothers, David (Diana) Irons of Fort Mill, S.C. and William Irons of Geneva, Ohio.
Loyann was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Irons.
A 1972 Graduate of Geneva High School, she was a loving mother, devoted daughter, dear sister and a wonderful true friend. She was a very active member in the Scleroderma Foundation for many years and was a past president of a local Kansas City Chapter. Loyann was a dog lover and was so proud of her Bichons, Zena and Zoey. Loyann enjoyed dancing and participated in tap and line dancing for many years. She also enjoyed bowling, the beach, movies, and music.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21st, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Geneva, where Pastor Jonathan Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Loyann’s memory to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, Mass. 01923.
