ASHTABULA — Katherine E. Lillis, age 81, of W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 18, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Katherine was born July 3, 1928, in Trumbull County, Ohio, the daughter of John and Katherine (Mills) Gillich and has been a long time resident of Ashtabula.
Mrs. Lillis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula and in her leisure time enjoyed camping, shopping, embroidery and best of all being with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce (Sandy) Lillis of Ashtabula, Ohio and Donnie (Lynnette) Lillis of Allen, Texas; one daughter, Kathy (Alan) Carter of Ashtabula, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Erica) Lillis, Sherri Mendrala, Danny, Donny (Stephanie) Lillis, Jaime (Brian) Mills, Heather (Ben) Hecht and Katie (Brian) Shoecraft; six great-grandchildren and three on the way; two brothers, Richard (Hope) Gillich of California and Peter (Nancy) Gillich of Ashtabula, Ohio; and one sister, Delores Cartner of Mesa, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband, Theodore D. Lillis in 2006.
Graveside Service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20th, in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Long, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula, officiating. Burial will follow.
In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, no calling hours will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1116 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the service and funeral home.
