CONNEAUT — Frank F. Gelsimino, age 91, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Inn Conneaut Health Center.


Frank was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Brocton, N.Y., the son of Paul and Jennie (Gangi) Gelsimino and was a graduate from Brocton High. For 38 years, he lived in Kirtland and later moved to Conneaut.


Frank worked the fairs and concessions all over the country, from coast to coast on the traveling circuit with the fairs. He later had a small trucking business hauling freight. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with people.


Frank was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church and a former member of the Mason's in the Willoughby area.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy (Vargo) Gelsimino in 1991; four brothers, Carl, Fano, John and Michael Gelsimino; and two sisters, Phylis Grisanti and Anna Heiback.


Frank is survived by three sons, Frank Gelsimino of Westfield, N.Y., Robert Gelsimino of Vero Beach, Fla., and James Gelsimino of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Paula McIntyre of Orange City, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Szocki of Conneaut; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his "lady friend", Arlene Devlin of Conneaut.


Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19th, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas, of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.


Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 12 p.m., Noon, to 1:30 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.


Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
