FORT MYERS, Fla. — Newton L. McCracken, age 62, of Harpersfield Township, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at the Health Park Medical Center in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Born Feb. 10, 1947, in Clearfield, Pa., he was the son of Newton L. and Dorothy (Somerville) McCracken.
He had been employed with Lubrizol Company in Painesville, until his retirement due to ill health.
He is a member of Harvest International Church; the Madison American Legion; and VFW Post 6846 in Geneva. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving him are his wife, Christine (Hayes) McCracken; a son, David McCracken of Lorain, Ohio; a daughter, Heidi Jo (Jeffrey) Clark of Trumbull Township; and two sisters, Karen Wickert of Pensacola, Fla., and Sue Carlson of Sumterville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cheryl in 2001; and a brother, Larry Palmer.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20th, at the Geneva Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio, with the Rev. Duane Ball, of the Harvest International Church, officiating. Burial will be in Harpersfield Township Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, Nov. 19th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
