TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Janyce Gertrude Baldwin Simmons Wentz, age 77, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 1, 1932, to Harlan Baldwin and Edyth Osborne Baldwin in Ashtabula County, Ohio. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Ann Simmons; her first husband, Alvin Simmons; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Baldwin.
Janyce was of the Methodist faith. She worked as a school bus driver for over 25 years of her life.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory include; her husband, Howard Wentz of the home; four sons, Keith Simmons and wife Connie of Taylorsville, Ronald Simmons and wife Cher of Ashtabula, Ohio, Terry Simmons of Grand Prairie, Texas and David Simmons and wife Evelyn of Painesville, Ohio; three step-children, Brenda Wentz Rogers and husband Phil, Craig Wentz, all of Kingsville, Ohio and Gary Wentz and wife Terri of Bryan, Texas; two brothers, Grant Baldwin and wife Kathy of Talking Rock, Ga. and Robert Baldwin and wife Bonnie of Leander, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17th, at ALEXANDER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE.
The Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m, with the Rev. Mark Robinette, officiating.
