STOW — Ben A. Donato, age 87, beloved husband of Mary Louise (nee Mitchell); loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Ben was a WWII Navy Veteran. During the years 1941-1945, the United States being in a state of war, B.A. Donato QM3C served with the submarine forces of the U.S. Navy. They participated in many phases of anti-submarine development, supplied constant military intellegence, performed numerous acts of rescue and hastened dominance of Atlantic waters by navies of the Allied powers. In these ways, the submarine forces of the U.S. Navy, and all who served with them, contributed heavily to the successful prosecution of the War.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15th, at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. Aurora Road (RT 82), Sagamore Hills, Ohio for Visitation.
Funeral will be 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16th, at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m, Monday, at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Peninsula, Ohio. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name to the Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Copley, Ohio 44333.
