ASHTABULA — Rhonda Kay Hatfield, age 53, of Ashtabula, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at home surrounded by family and friends.


She was born Oct. 4, 1956, in Bartley, W.Va., the daughter of Ernest and Rebecca (Hamilton) Hatfield.


Rhonda’s greatest joys in life were taking care of her grandchildren, feeding her family and anyone else who needed a good meal and working her crossword puzzles.


Surviving her are two sons, Jason Hatfield and Sonny Hatfield; two grandchildren, Ja’Sean Hatfield and Chyna Franklin; sisters, Tonyia (Sam) Severino and Tammy (Jeff) White, both of Ashtabula, Ohio; brothers, Scott Hatfield of Dallas, Texas, Chuck Hatfield and Bryon Hatfield, both of Ashtabula, Ohio; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved her very much; her trusted and much loved friend and caregiver, Heather DiBiase who is truly an Angel on Earth; her loving and devoted friends, Twila Lucero of Ashtabula, Micki Micsky of Jefferson, Carol Brecker of Erie, Pa., Mina Blanchard of Ashtabula and Miguel Vasquez of Ashtabula; and many other friends who have showed so much love throughout her life.


She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kathy Ritchie; and a brother, Donald (Squeak) Hatfield.


At Rhonda’s request, her body has been donated to Wright State University School of Medicine, Dayton, Ohio.


Because we are honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family in c/o Tonyia Severino, 1917 Harbor Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 or to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Kingsville, Ohio 44048 to feed and care for the animals she loved.
