Thaddeus W. Ortman

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Thaddeus W. “Ted” Ortman, age 92, of 3660 Watson Road, Stow, N.Y., formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died at 1:55 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in the Heritage Park Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing, Jamestown, N.Y.


A Jamestown resident since October of 2009, he was born May 31, 1917, in Buffalo, the son of the late Stanley and Kamila Goski Ortman.


Mr. Ortman worked for the Bethlehem Steel Railroad and later a journeyman electrician with Local 41 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Buffalo, until retirement at the age of 70 in 1987. He was a civilian employee for the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Surviving are two sons, William (Louise) Ortman of Stow, N.Y., and Randal Ortman of Orchard Park, N.Y.; three granddaughters, Jennifer and Rebecca Ortman and Stephanie (Brian) Arrington; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Arrington; and a brother, Vincent “Casey” Ortman of Lancaster, N.Y.


Besides his parents, Mr. Ortman was preceded in death by his wife, Stacia Anzelewicz Ortman; his companion, Darlene Allen; and a brother, Henry Ortman.


A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family. No visitation will be observed.
