ANDOVER — Grayce B. Hulburt, age 91, a resident of Andover Village Retirement Center, formerly of St. Marys, Pa., died Thursday evening, Oct. 29, 2009, at the Retirement Center.


She was born Jan. 24, 1918, in Port Washington, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Samuel and Cora Houston Buehler. On June 8, 1940, she married Howard Hulburt, who preceded her in death in 1979.


Mrs. Hulburt graduated from Ohio University in 1939 with her teaching degree. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys and A.A.U.W. She volunteered much of her time for Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts and as a band parent. She also spent time volunteering for the former Andrew Kaul Memorial Gift Shop and the Library Board.


She is survived by two sons, Bruce R. (Sandra) Hulburt of Johnstown, Pa. and John T. (Marcia) Hulburt of Andover, Ohio; a daughter, Janet E. (Britton) Hopkin of Rochester, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Robert, Tammy, David, Amy, Emily (Adam), Lewis, Karen and Jennifer; 10 great-grandchildren, Zach, Noah, Belle, Andrea, Adam, Grant, Emma, Joshua, Tyler and Megan; two great-great-grandchildren, Ian and Christian.


Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 2nd, at LYNCH-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, Pa., with the Rev. Scott Weist, Pastor of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1st, at the Funeral Home.
