EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Arthur R. “Roy” Phillips Jr., age 67, of East Springfield, Pa., died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, 2009, of a probable coronary, at Hamot Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1942, in Erie, Pa., the son of Arthur R. Phillips Sr. and Marvella (Crandall) Allen.
A lifelong area resident, Roy was a self-employed plumber and most recently was working at Lowe’s in Erie. He enjoyed gambling, especially slots and bingo and being with his family.
Survivors include three sisters, Nancy Betts and Joyce Norton, both of Conneaut, Ohio and Beverly Henley of Albion, Pa.; two brothers, Paul Phillips of Erie, Pa. and Robert Phillips of Williston, S.C.; a half-brother, Larry Phillips of Refugio, Texas; two step-brothers, Richard Tisdale and Gary Tisdale, both of Conneaut, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Lottie Tisdale Phillips; a step-sister, Rita Morgan; and a step-brother, Merlin Tisdale.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1st, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio. There will be no funeral service.
Following cremation, burial will take place in East Conneaut Cemetery, Conneaut, Ohio.
