GENEVA — Raphael C. Conley, age 83, of Geneva, Ohio, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Geneva Pointe Nursing Center, Geneva.
Born June 12, 1926, in Derry, Pa., the son of Charles P. and Mary A. (Benden) Conley. He married Dorothy M. Eckenrode on May 23, 1992, in Rome, Ohio.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus, collected model cars and caps, liked Snoopy, was a baseball fan and made wood trains. He was a member of Assumption Church in Geneva.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Patricia T. Chandonia of Atlanta, Ga., Jerome R. (Amy) Conley of Mantua, Dorothy M. Dolan of Geneva, Carl (Joni) Ellsworth of Mentor, Donald (Marilee) Ellsworth of Hartsgrove, Diana (Jeff) Reese-Carpenter of Geneva, Thomas (Lori) Ellsworth of Green, Becky (Butch) Ellsworth-Smock of Roaming Shores, Colletta (Joe) Ellsworth-Wicker of Chesapeake, Va. and Francis (Barb) Ellsworth of Geneva; daughter-in-law, JoAnne Ellsworth of Jefferson; 39 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose; son, Kenneth Ellsworth; one grandchild, Carrie V. Goodfellow; his parents; two sisters, Mary Dorothy Thomas and Phyllis Vargo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30th, at the Assumption Church, 694 W. Main St., Geneva, with Father Melvin Rusnak, presiding. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
