ASHTABULA — Esther Mae Wright, age 88, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born May 20, 1924, in Green, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Emma (Maki) Sironen and lived in the same home in Ashtabula for over 66 years.
Esther was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was a very loving and giving person always helping others in need. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and would never allow anyone to leave her house hungry, including all of the stray animals in her neighborhood, especially the cats that she fed. She also loved polka music, watching game shows and sunbathing at Walnut Beach. After working on the railroad during the war, Esther dedicated her life to taking care of her children and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Cookie (Ron) Ziegler and Barbara (Ray) Caudill; four grandchildren, Heidi, Ray, Jeff and Donna; eight great-grandchildren, Jeff, Codi, Dusti, Markie, Corey, Kylie, Kailie and Hannah; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Wright; daughter, Judy Reed; and sisters, Hilda A. Waid, Marie Lina Graves and Betty Signa Craft.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25th, at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Ken Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of Service.
