KINGSVILLE — Geraldine L. Arnett, age 82, of Kingsville, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Theodore and Catherine (Jackson) Bush and had been a lifetime area resident.
She had been employed for twenty-four years as a supervisor for Ashtabula County Children services until her retirement. Prior to that, she had worked for the Crippled Children’s agency for Ashtabula County. She had also been a crossing guard for Ashtabula City Schools.
She had been an active member of Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church where she had taught Sunday school and also was an Elder and Deacon. When her daughters where young, she was a Girl Scout Leader. She was an avid crafter, a Cleveland sports fan and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to all their sports activities.
Surviving her are her children, Barbara (Jerry) Jeffries of Austinburg, Ida (Bill) Rodgers of Ashtabula and Robert (Chris) Arnett of Kingsville; five grandchildren, Robert Rodgers, Jennifer Rodgers, Greg Elliott, Tim Elliott and Shelby Arnett; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cody, Mackenna, Albert and Jacob; a sister, Helen (Vern) Archer of Hixson, Tenn.; and two brothers, Frank (Jan) Bush of Fountain Inn, N.C. and William (Charlotte) Bush of Kings Mountain, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Richard “Ricky” Rodgers; a sister, Catherine Bates; and a brother, Theodore Bush.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22nd, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Diane Walker officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery in Monroe Township.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home.
