Kathy E. Dalton

ASHTABULA — The Lord called another angel home, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013. Kathy Elaine Dalton passed peacefully in her home from a long illness, with her loving family by her side.

The daughter of Garland and Mary (Campbell) Dalton, she was born in Ivanhoe, Va., on March 26, 1954, and had been an Ashtabula resident the majority of her life.

Kathy was both mother and father to her children, as well has her children’s best friend. A single parent, Kathy worked tirelessly to support her family. She never tired of working and most recently she worked at North Coast Flea Market with her good friend, Ray. Kathy loved a good bargain and would shop for hours looking for that “special deal”. She would encourage her friends to go with her to Bingo. She and her sisters would take trips to the casino’s; not to win money, but to spend time together.

Her greatest love was her family; she spoiled her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and her siblings with laughter and love. Kathy’s legacy will be one of strength, dignity, courage, hard work and love. Her love for her family knew no end. Her strength will be unmatched, her dignity and courage through her illness will be remembered and admired.

She is survived by her loving children; son, Joel (Becky) Dalton of Ashtabula; daughter, Malynda (Tim) Salyers of Austinburg; grandchildren, Ariellie, Timmy, Nick, Melia, Katlyn and Marissa; great-grandson, Ariéon; siblings, Sue Peggs, Kay (Harold) Moore and Mark (Bobbi) Dalton, all of Ashtabula, Melissa Coldiron of Ben Wheeler, Texas and Troy (Carmen) Dalton of Ashtabula; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Mary Dalton; four brothers; and her grandson, Jacob Dalton.

A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 17th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Thomas McCain officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Kingsville, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be observed from 11 a.m. until time of Service, Thursday, at the Funeral Home.

If desired, contributions in Kathy’s may be made to Life Banc, 4775 Richmond Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44128.
