SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Myrtie Burgwin, age 85, of Ashtabula, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Saybrook Landing Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Weston) Rock.
Myrtie had worked as a clerk for the Ohio State Patrol. She enjoyed reading, colorizing old black and white photos. She loved her poodle dogs, especially “Silvee.”
Myrtie is survived by her brother, Jack Rock of Ashtabula; sisters, Peg Branch of Kingsville and Dorothy Washington of Ashtabula; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Askey of Ashtabula; grandson, Matthew Vosburg of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Burgwin; daughter, Bonita Vosburg; sisters, Gertrude and Mary Ann McKiethan; and brothers, Charles Rock, William Campany and George Campany.
As per her request, private graveside services will be held at a later date.
Contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve or to the Ashtabula Animal Protective League.
