CONNEAUT —
Myrtle I. (Schultz) Hazen, age 92, of East Springfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012, at the Conneaut Medical Center, Conneaut, Ohio.
Born on August 29, 1919, in East Springfield, Pa., Myrtle was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Lucy (English) Schultz. Myrtle married the late Harry M. Hazen on Sept. 11, 1939, and together they had one son, the late Dennis M. Hazen.
Myrtle retired from the U.S. Post Office in East Springfield, where she worked for several years.
She had attended the Federated Church and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. #22 in Albion, Pa.
Besides her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Kolar, Harriet Felige, Maxine Peters, Phyllis Gresh and Vesta Schultz; and a brother, Kenneth Schultz.
Myrtle is survived by three brothers, Melvin (Georgia) Schultz of Erie, Pa., Homer (Betty) Schultz of Lehigh, Fla., and Cecil (Mary) Schultz of Avon Park, Fla. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Edward Gresh of Deltona, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hazen; two grandsons, Jeremy and Justin Hazen; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the JEAN EVANS THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME at 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa., on Thursday, May 3rd, from 11 a.m. until the time of the Service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ed Huntley, of the Federated Church, officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery.
