ASHTABULA —
Alice Teasdale Merriman, age 90, of Avon Blvd., passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at her son's home on Blair Avenue.
She was born July 13, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Albert T. and Eleanor (Anderson) Fisher and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1958, moving here with her husband from Cleveland.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as the secretary to the plant manager for SCM. A member of St. Peters Episcopal Church where she was very active in the St. Mary Margaret Guild and all its activities, she enjoyed classical music, flower and vegetable gardening, snow skiing and attending the opera (which she and her husband often scheduled their vacations around).
Her survivors include one son, Samuel H. (Renee) Merriman Jr. of Ashtabula; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Merriman, Kevin, Tim (Terri), Sean (Jen) and John Sheldon, Misty (Ono) Achukwu, Kristina (Trent) Gould and Andrew Sheldon’s wife, Regina Sheldon; one brother, George Anderson Fisher of New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel H. Merriman Sr. on August 8, 2010; one grandson, Andrew Sheldon; three brothers, Charleton, Albert and Hart Fisher; two sisters, Frances Trimble and Patsy Winn; and her parents.
A Calling Hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 24th, in the Guild Room of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4901 Main Ave., Ashtabula, with a Service to follow at 11 a.m., with Canon David Evans presiding. Inurnment will be in the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Memorial Fund of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements.
