ASHTABULA — Shirley Ann Brown, age 78, of Ashtabula, Ohio, her life ended after a battle with cancer on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.
Born in Conneaut, Ohio, Ms. Brown graduated from Mount Union College. She was a long-time educator in the Cleveland area, as a principal in Shaker Heights and as an innovator in special needs education.
She returned to live in Ashtabula and shared her intelligence and generosity with many organizations.
Ms. Brown was preceded by her parents, Captain Fred Brown and Beatrice Brown; as well as her sister, Frances Haug.
She is survived by her nephew, Jon F. MacDonald and his wife, Janet, of Sarasota, Fla.; as well as her niece, Sandra M. MacDonald and her husband, William Rommel, of Newport, R.I.
