ASHTABULA —
Charles “Chuck” Reese Barger, age 41, of Topper Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Cleveland Metro Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident early Saturday morning.
He was born Oct. 18, 1970, in Madison, Ohio, the son of Theodore and Gladys (Doman) Barger and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
A 1988 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he was employed by ESAB and previously had worked at Molded Fiberglass, TCI Cable and Millennium.
Always a free spirit, Chuck enjoyed being outdoors, motorcycles, swimming and music, especially heavy metal and rock-n-roll. He also loved cats and dogs and had three favorites at home, “Bailey, Boston and Harley”. But his true love was always his daughter, Brooklyn, of whom he was so very proud.
Survivors include his parents, Theodore and Gladys Barger of Ashtabula; his daughter, Brooklyn Ann Barger of Perry; his brothers, Darin (Angela) DeRosa and Ted “Junior” (Jacki) Barger, both of Ashtabula; and his longtime friend and companion, Christine Laughlin of Ashtabula.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15th, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16th, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME. The Rev. Shane Nanney, Pastor of East Side Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to his daughter, Brooklyn A. Barger, to help her further her education after graduation.
