SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Robert J. Knerr, age 57, of Aberdeen Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Saybrook Landing in Saybrook Township.
He was born May 2, 1955, in Fremont, Ohio, the son of Rex J. and Mary (Manyo) Knerr and had lived in Ashtabula most of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of Edgewood High School.
He first worked at the Animal Protective League and then he worked at Ash Craft Industries in Kingsville. He loved animals, his work and family and friends..
Surviving him are his father, Rex J. Knerr of Ashtabula; three sisters, Cynthia (Douglas) Atwell of Ashtabula, Diane (Phil) Mier of Columbus and Laura McCormack of Ashtabula; three nieces, Melinda, Amber and Janelle; and two nephews, Matthew and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Knerr in 2012.
A Funeral Service will be held 8 p.m., TODAY, Feb. 26th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 6 p.m. until time of Service, Today, at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 for Bob’s love of animals.
