CONNEAUT — Esther Marie Niciu, age 80, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 27, 2012, at The Villa At The Lake in Conneaut, Ohio.
Born Nov. 28, 1931, in South Butler, N.Y., she was the daughter of Dwight and Dora (Candee) Falke.
Esther was a local business owner and was a member of Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed working outside in the yard and gardening, bird watching, traveling and baking. She loved to sing and especially enjoyed the Christmas Holiday.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn (Jodi) Niciu and Jason (Karen) Niciu; five daughters, Pamela DeMay, Michela Hull, Lorie (Jim) Francis, Wendy (Michael) Hilgert and Elaine (Jeff) Applebee; two brothers, Rev. Robert (Karen) Falke and Glen (Sherry) Falke; two sisters, Lois (Rev. Ed) Crandall and Carol (Fran) Yerdon; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mihai Niciu in 2010; a son, Racy Niciu in 2000; a sister, Helen Martin; and a brother, Dale Falke.
Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31st, at the Kelloggsville Church Of The Nazarene, 4841 Route 84, Monroe Township, Ohio, with Mrs. Niciu’s brother, the Rev. Robert Falke and her brother-in-law, the Rev. Ed Crandall officiating. Private burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday evening, Oct. 31st, at the Church from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Heaventrain. Envelopes will be available at the Church or at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, which has charge of arrangements.
