ASHTABULA — Amparo Rodriguez Torres, also known as “Pati”, age 40, died unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012.
Amparo was born in Ciudad-Manuel Doblado, Mexico, on Feb. 9, 1972, the daughter of Alejandro Rodriguez and Elisa Gordillo. She came to the United States in 1996, and became a naturalized citizen in 2004.
A member of Mother of Sorrows Church, she enjoyed the Spanish Mass in which Father Mulqueen presided.
She was a valued employee of Molded Fiberglass for more than ten years. Amparo had a wonderful work ethic and she encouraged others to take pride in their work, just as she did. Working at MFG, she made many friends whom she considered to be her family.
Pati believed in being neat and tidy and kept her home in perfect order. A wonderful cook, Amparo liked to prepare meals for her family and friends; her enchiladas were always requested for family parties. She enjoyed being outside and working in her flower garden, which was always enjoyed by the entire neighborhood.
A wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her mother, Elisa Gordillo-Rodriguez; her brothers and sisters, Eduardo and Juan Rodriguez of Ashtabula, Lucia Rodriguez of Mexico, Luis Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., of South Carolina, Jose` Rodriguez, Gabriela Rodriguez, Carmela Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Maria DeJesus Rodriguez and Silvanie Rodriguez, all of Mexico; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both in Mexico and Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Hilda Dolores Rodriguez-Garcia on Oct. 5, 2012; and her father, Alejandro Rodriguez.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, with the Rev. Ernesto Rodriguez presiding. Burial will be in her hometown of Ciudad-Manuel Doblado, Mexico.
Calling Hours will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
