BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Anita Jean Austin age 76, of Boulder City, Nev., passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012.

Born in Pecos, Texas, on Feb. 23, 1936, she was the daughter of Archie and Edith Humphries Hart. She married Jerry Lee Austin of North Kingsville, Ohio, in Las Vegas, Nev., on Feb. 7, 1962.

They moved from Anaheim Hills, Calif., to Boulder City, Nev., in 1988. Prior to living in Anaheim, they lived in Crestline, Calif., and Anita was on the San Bernardino County Sewer Commission and served as President of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce.

In Anaheim, she was President of the American Airlines Kiwi Club and was the first lady on the Anaheim’s City Golf Commissions. She was a great golfer and was club champion twice in Boulder City. She was a member of the Women’s Golf Club of Boulder City and of Las Vegas Valley Model A Club. She also enjoyed reading.

Anita is survived by her husband, Jerry Austin of Boulder City, Nev.; a son, Terry Austin of Draper, Utah; and a sister, Gerri Solman of Albuquerque, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Gary Austin.

The family will hold private services.
