NILES — John A. Pasha, age 91, formerly of Kingsville, Ohio, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Warren.
Born in Niles, he was the son of Joseph and Francis (Roktnegn) Pasha and had been a resident of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Center in Niles prior to his death.
A graduate of Williamsfield High School, he was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Metal and three battle stars for his patriotic efforts. He was a former POW and lifetime member of the VFW Post 943, Ashtabula.
Mr. Pasha was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1629 and 404 for 30 years and worked 15 years for Pymatuning Valley State Park. He was also a member of Gageville United Methodist Church.
His survivors include three daughters, Kathleen “Kathi” (Gary) Bowen of Denver, Colo., Evelyn (Walter) Beckett of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Jane (Marc) Nordquest of Ashtabula; and one sister, Cathryn “Katie” Parise of Warren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Julia (Clisby) in 1978; two brothers, Tony and David Pasha; one sister, Mary Pasha; and his parents.
A Private Family Service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20th, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E. Center St., North Kingsville, with the Rev. E. Richard Bowen officiating. Burial will follow.
No calling hours will be observed.
