ASHTABULA — Arnold J. Santavicca, age 77, of North Kingsville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the Country Club Retirement Center.
He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Geraldine (Custer) Santavicca. Arnold graduated from Collinwood High School in 1953 and began working for General Electric as a tool and dye apprentice. He married Veronica M. Gregorich on May 26, 1956.
Arnold attended night school and earned his engineering degree while still working for GE Lamp Division, Collinwood. In December 1972, he moved his family to North Kingsville upon promotion to the GE Conneaut, Ohio, plant. After 40 years of service, Arnold retired from GE in February 1995.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering with his cars and working in his “beautiful” yard; however, MOST of his time was devoted to FAMILY!
In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Vera; and his beloved granddaughter, Britany Phillips, who recently passed in June this same year 2012.
Survivors include his two daughters, Cynthia (Santavicca) Phillips of Geneva and Valerie (Santavicca) Zaucha of Twinsburg; two brothers, John and Gene Santavicca and favorite sister in law, Gayle Santavicca, brother Gene’s wife; grandson, Troy Phillips; granddaughters, Kristen and Lauren Zaucha; nephew, Gary (Sandy) Santavicca; nieces, Ginell McFadden (Timmy) and Gloria Severino (Lewis II); great-niece, Jessica McFadden; and great-nephews and niece, David and Michael Santavicca, Alexandra and Louie Severino III.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at Knollwood Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve for the exemplary level of comfort and friendship “Arnold’s Team” provided him these past several months.
