ASHTABULA —
Mary E. Knerr, age 84, of Aberdeen Ave., Ashtabula, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Country Club Retirement Campus.
She was born August 22, 1928, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Milkus and Mary Manyo and had been a lifetime area resident. She was a 1946 graduate of Ashtabula High School.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She loved to cook and enjoyed being surrounded by her family.
Surviving her is her husband, Rex J. Knerr whom she married Nov. 27, 1948; a son, Robert Knerr of Ashtabula; three daughters, Cynthia (Douglas) Atwell of Ashtabula; Diane (Phil) Mier of Columbus and Laura McCormack of Ashtabula; five grandchildren, Melinda, Amber, Matthew, Joshua and Janell; four sisters, Betty Varkett of Ashtabula, Charlotte Fasula of Florida and Margaret Manyo and Carol Manyo, both of Ashtabula; and one brother, Joseph Manyo of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Nicholas, Emery, Ernie and John Manyo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 10th, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Church, 3312 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio with the Rev. Father Ernesto Rodriquez presiding.
Calling hour will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., Monday, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
