ROME — Steven Paul Pawlowski, age 48, of Rome, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
Paul was born Jan. 17, 1965, the son of Dr. S.W. and Celia (Temky) Pawlowski of Orwell. He graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1983, where he wrestled and was a state qualifier. While a senior in high school, he received the Ashtabula County Touchdown Club Football Award. He attended Lakeland Community College where he also wrestled and was a National Qualifier for wrestling while there.
Paul was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and biking. His favorite fishing holes were in Quebec, Canada and Lake Erie. His hunting dog, “Kate” was always by his side. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. He was a coating furnace operator for Kennametal Orwell for many years.
Paul is survived by his mother, Celia A. Pawlowski; brothers and sisters, Charlene Benton, R.N. of North Bloomfield, Walter Pawlowski of Orwell, Stanley (Vey) Pawlowski of Southington, Dr. Anthony (Gay) Pawlowski of Orwell, James (Andrea) Pawlowski of Des Moines, Wash. and Carole (Jeff) Kepiro of Hartsgrove; and goddaughter, Olivia Kepiro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. S.W. Pawlowski (veterinarian).
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27th, at PAINE-GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 28th, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 103 N. Maple St., Orwell, with the Rev. Raymond J. Thomas, V.F., presiding. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
