MASON CITY, Iowa — Irvin R. “Rick” David, age 61, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Mason City, Iowa, at the I.O.O.F. Home and Therapy Center.
Rick was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Richard and Donna (Mischka) David.
Rick attended Conneaut High School and later worked for a short time at EMCO Wheaton in Conneaut before he became disabled from an automobile accident.
Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to cook and grill foods. He liked to make things out of wood, especially small keepsakes. He loved his dogs, older cars, 50’s music and especially his beer. He was an enthusiastic beer connoisseur.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Cox David of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; a son, Richard David, and a daughter, Jaime and Rob Rader, all of San Tan Valley, Ariz.; two sisters, Betty and Roland Stewart of Conneautville, Pa., and Robin and Charles Wolters of Rockford, Iowa; two grandchildren, Audrey and Robert “Bubba” Rader; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Tim Roach.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19th, at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, 3700 Route 193, Kingsville, Ohio, with Fr. Charles Poore as celebrant. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memory Gardens later this summer.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the care givers at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa, for the outstanding care and compassion given to Rick.
