FAIRVIEW, Pa. — Lula Esther (Potter) Howland, age 87, of Conneaut, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Fairview Manor Nursing Home, where she had recently been residing.
Lula was born Monday, Jan. 26, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late George A. and Lula L. (Curtis) Potter. She graduated from Rowe High School in Conneaut, Ohio and married her late husband, Howard Howland.
Besides being a dedicated wife and mother, Lula worked for several cleaners in the Conneaut area where she worked as a steam press operator. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed collecting and listening to music and making jewelry.
Besides her parents and her husband, Lula is preceded in death by a son, Evan; and three brothers, Ralph, George and Lawrence.
Lula is survived by her son, Brett Howland and his wife, Susan of East Springfield, Pa.; and a sister, June Varketta of Ashtabula, Ohio; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at JEAN EVANS THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa., on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, from 6 p.m. until the time of Service at 8 p.m., with Tim Kraus, Minister of Conneaut Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery.
