ASHTABULA — Agnes M. “Gail” Suhar, age 75, of Ashtabula, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Country Club Retirement Center III in Ashtabula.
She was born Jan. 19, 1937, in Phillipsburg, Pa. Agnes and her sister Mary were adopted and a stronger more loving bond could not have existed. In Phillipsburg, Gail met her soon to be husband Bill and they moved to Ashtabula in the late 1950’s and have resided here ever since.
Gail was a member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and was involved with Mother of Sorrows School, church festivals and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. After her children were grown, she worked at Lawsons and later Dairy Mart in the Harbor. She also worked at Walden Books in the Ashtabula Mall.
Gail loved to bake, play scrabble and make homemade candy. She crocheted many blankets, especially baby blankets. She was an avid sports fan, attending games with her son, Tom, whenever she could. Her name is on a brick in the Indians Hall of Fame Wall at Progressive Field.
Gail is survived by her children, Thomas of Ashtabula and David and Jackie, both of Port Orange, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Suhar.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29th, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
