Steven R. Moisio, age 54, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, August 27, 2010, at his home.
Born Dec. 4, 1955, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Oliver and Lempi Heitanen-Moisio. Married formerly to Joan Volanski, she has remained his friend ever since.
Steve worked at Lake County Nursery for most of his life while also maintaining the family farm.
Steve loved to be outside. He loved cars, especially his ‘67 Dodge Dart. He was fun and loving. He was also very quiet, keeping most of his opinions to himself unless asked.
He had a heart of gold and was an all around great man who will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his mother, Lempi Moisio, his son, Aaron (Patricia) Moisio, three grandchildren, James, Emily and Timothy, two brothers, Dave and Tom Moisio, and two sisters, Kathryn (James) Fassett and Rebecca (Robert) Broderick, all of Jefferson except for Rebecca who has since moved to Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins who all loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Moisio; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Moisio and Mr. and Mrs. John Heitanen.
A Memorial Service for all who knew and loved Steve will be on Saturday, Sept. 4th, at his home at 2164 South Denmark Road, Jefferson, Ohio 44047, starting at 12 p.m., Noon, with Service at 2 p.m.
