CONNEAUT —
James L. Anderson Sr., age 72, of Chestnut St., Conneaut, beloved husband and father, passed away at his home early Wednesday, August 22, 2012.
Mr. Anderson, a lifelong resident of Conneaut, was born on Oct. 17, 1939, to Albert and Violet (Matthews) Anderson.
He spent his younger years working on the ships in the Great Lakes as a deckhand and cook. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
James is survived by his girlfriend of 26 years, Tammi Keyes; brothers, Donald Anderson of Conneaut and Robert Anderson of Ashtabula; sister, Shirley Ward of Conneaut; children, James L. Anderson Jr. of Lincoln, Neb., Edward B. Anderson Sr. and Timothy S. Anderson, both of Jefferson, Sandra Baldwin of Conneaut and Karry Anderson of Burghill, Ohio; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Tammi’s parents, Patricia Cotton and Bill Keyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1st, at Conneaut Church of Christ, 448 W. Main Road, Conneaut, with Pastor Tim Kraus officiating. His ashes will be buried at East Conneaut Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made to the family in care of THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, who has charge of arrangements.
