ASHTABULA —
Anne Elizabeth Thome, age 89, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Saybrook Landing.
She was born June 23, 1922, in Pierpont, the daughter of the late Nick and Helen (Folvarski) Yourchak. Anne graduated from Conneaut High School class of 1941. She married the love of her life, Frederick G. Thome on May 11, 1946, and together they raised two children.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Thome worked as a winder for Astatic Corporation in Conneaut and later worked at Reliance Electric in Ashtabula.
Anne enjoyed cooking and baking as well as flower gardening (especially petunias). Everyone knew her garden as “Annie’s Flower Garden” which was decorated with hanging baskets, and an array of flowers. She will always be remembered for her homemade perogies and her canned sweet pickles. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, David “Buddy” Reed Thome and Fred Michael (Joyce) Thome, both of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Steven (Michelle) Thome of Ashtabula and Lora (Mike) Dodge of Geneva; ten great-grandchildren, John, Stevie, Jordan, Melanie, Taryn, Tylor, Taylor, Haley, Hunter and Morgan; and brothers, John Yourchak of Andover, and her twin, Mike (Georgia) Yourchak of Pierpont.
Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Frederick G. Thome on Jan. 13, 2012; sister, Mary Makuta; and her parents.
A Private Service will be held at the convenience of the family, inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
