ASHTABULA —
Nancysue (Thomas) Wilcox, age 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 1, 2012, with her children by her side.
She was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Dr. Arthur and Kathryn (Henry) Thomas. She moved to Ashtabula as a child and graduated from Harbor High School.
Nancysue worked for the local Water Company, before completing her education with a Bachelors Degree from Lake Erie College in 1975 and becoming a teacher with Ashtabula Area City Schools.
She married Sheridan T. Wilcox on May 21, 1955 and they had three children together. Nancysue was a concert pianist with the "Keyboard Quartet" performing from Cleveland to Erie. She was a prolific reader and also enjoyed knitting and jigsaw puzzle solving.
Nancysue was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; and her son-in-law, Ted Wesner in 2009.
She is survived by her children; S. Thomas (Rhonda) Wilcox of Dover, Ohio and Melissa Wesner and Kate Wilcox, both of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Jessica (Keith) Ecklund, Alana (Keith) Bergman, Anthony P. Colucci III and Abbie-Jean Brady; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Balcomb, Rocco Bergman and Brady Bergman; several cousins and nieces; and extended family, best friend, Essie M. Moore and family (dtr Shirley A. Moore), Lisa (Ham) Bagby, Milo Bagby and John Bergman.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Country Club Retirement Center and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at New Hope Church of God in Christ, 1703 W. 11th St., Ashtabula, followed by a Service, with Elder Emory Moore officiating.
