CLEVELAND — Edith “Edie” Chiacchiero Prisco, age 86, a resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic due to complications from heart surgery.
A native of Ashtabula, she was a student at West Junior High School and a 1943 graduate of Ashtabula High School. She was married to Philip “Buddy” A. Prisco on Nov. 27, 1952.
Edie was an employee of Ward Products, The Commercial Bank, Rockwell International and SCM Chemicals, Inc.
A life-long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she was a member of the Ashtabula Post Office Women’s Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Her interests included knitting, reading, walking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Philip Prisco; son, James “Jim” Prisco; daughter, Donna Prisco Hibler; son-in-law, Kurt Hibler; and granddaughter, Aimee Hibler. She is also survived by sisters, Nancy Leng, Jennie Lupo and Mary Canzonetta; and her brother, Anthony “Tony” Chiacchiero.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Connie Chiacchiero.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1st, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mount Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., TONIGHT, Tuesday, July 31st, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 West 19th St., Ashtabula. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
