JEFFERSON —
Robert P. “Paul” Burton Jr., age 64, of Uselma Ave., Jefferson, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Jefferson Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient the past three weeks.
He was born April 6, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of Robert Paul and Ruby Marquerite (Williams) Burton Sr. He was married to Virginia “Gene” Kuhn (nee Sokol) on May 7, 1983, in Nantucket, Mass., and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
He had received his BA Degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., a Masters Degree from the University of Maine in Orono, and an Associate Degree from Kent State.
He worked as an English teacher for Grand River Academy for several years, and later he would go on to work for the Star Beacon and also RMI as a Technical Writer. He retired in 2011 from the Ashtabula County Medical Center where he worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant. In his free time, “Paul” liked to backpack and spend time outdoors, however, his love of books and music were truly a passion to him.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Gene” Burton of Jefferson; daughter, Nicole A. Pekol of Parma; son, David J. (Brandy) Kuhn of Clayton, N.C.; sister, Sheila B. Malone of Walnut Bottom, Pa.; a nephew, Christopher A. Malone of Shippensburg, Pa.; and four beautiful granddaughters, Ariel Kuhn of San Francisco Calif. and Megan, Lauren and Emily Kuhn of Clayton, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No services or calling hours are going to be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
