MENTOR — Anna S. Riggs, age 101, of Painesville Township, Ohio, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Mentor Way Nursing Home.
Born March 13, 1911, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Antal and Elizabeth Szush and has lived in Painesville since 1936.
Anna was the owner and operator of Riggs Countryside Dairy with her husband and they also ran Riggs Nursery from 1955-1985.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church where she also participated in the Legion of Mary.
Anna touched a lot of lives and met many people. She had many wonderful stories to share.
Survivors include three daughters, Annette (Joseph) Rinyo of Madison, Karen (John) Weigand of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Marie Riggs of Cleveland; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Knowles Riggs; a daughter, Patricia Klepatz; a sister, Elizabeth; and brothers, Anthony and Albert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 242 N. State St., Painesville, Ohio, with the Rev. R. Stephen Vellenga as celebrant.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 13th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, 368 Mentor Ave. (Opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
