CONNEAUT — Geraldine M. “Gerry” Davin, age 81, of Conneaut, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2012.
She was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Leonard and Alvera (Chirulli) Julio. After her high school graduation, Mrs. Davin attended St. Johns in Cleveland, where she earned her nursing degree.
In her early years, she was a nurse at Brown Memorial Hospital in Conneaut, and was the school nurse for Conneaut school systems until her retirement in 1993. She was such a loving and caring person and touched so many children’s and people’s lives throughout her nursing career.
Mrs. Davin was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Churches, and the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, James C. Davin, whom she married August 17, 1957; three sons, Patrick (Jody) Davin of Conneaut, James (Lisa) Davin of Lancaster, N.Y. and Thomas Davin of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Petraitis, Jared Davin, Connor and Cassie Davin, Lindsey Davin, and Kelsey (Zachary) Fisher; her great-grandson, Zachary Fisher; and her devoted and loving caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Davin in 2008; and her brother, Robert Julio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with Fr. Philip Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., TODAY, Nov. 19th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Contributions may be made to the Seniors Program at Conneaut Human Resources Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
