SOUTH EUCLID —
Martin J. Kinczel, age 89, of South Euclid, Ohio, formerly of Cleveland, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Homewood Residence, Richmond Heights, Ohio.
Born Dec. 8, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a resident of South Euclid for 56 years. Marty was a Pilot and 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Marty was a member of the Knights of Columbus; a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church for over 50 years, where he served as a lector; a member of Holy Name Society; a member of New London Historical Society; and a Eucharistic Minister at Hillcrest Hospital.
He retired as Treasurer of Cleveland Stevedore of the Port of Cleveland.
Survivors include his wife, Aida (née: Cutrone); and sons, Paul of Rock Creek, Ohio, Peter (wife, Barbara) of Rochester, Minn., and Stephen (Barbara) of Leroy Township, Ohio. He was a devoted grandfather to Sara Steuber, Aaron, Matthew, Daniel and Olivia; two great-grandchildren; and dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin J. and Julia (née: Kiver) Kinczel; and his sister, Helen Zitko.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4th, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1545 S. Green Road, South Euclid, Ohio, with the Rev. Fr. Winkle as celebrant. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3rd, at DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME of South Euclid, 4600 Mayfield Road (just east of Green Road) .
The family suggests contributions may be made in Marty’s memory to Sacred Heart of Jesus Guardian Angel Fund.
