ASHTABULA — Marjorie I. Hubbard, age 88, a resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Silver Sands II in Ashtabula.
Born Feb. 11, 1924, in Ashtabula, she was a daughter to the late Mae Lillian (Williams) and Paul Bradley Rice.
A 1942 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she also graduated from Ashtabula Business College where she then worked for several years. She then retired from the Ashtabula Rubber Company, after working for many years as a cost estimator.
A long time member of Ashtabula First Baptist Church, she enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and square dancing.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathryn (Gerald) Thurston of Ashtabula and Jean (James) Wright of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Kimberly Fenton, Dennis (Tiffany) Battles, Jill (Charles) Shaw, Julie (Scott) Vacca, Caryn (Jeffrey) Schneider, Steven (Jennifer) Wright and Thomas Wright; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, James Edward Battles; her 2nd husband, Albert Hubbard; her son, David Battles; great-grandson, Simon Wright; sister, Lillian Brown; and brothers, Roy, Richard and Paul Rice.
Friends will be received on Friday, Jan. 11th, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11th, at the Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Douglas Wright, of Ashtabula First Baptist Church. Final resting place will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Plymouth Township, Ohio.
