WILLOUGHBY — Dorothy “Dot” McIlrath, age 87, a resident of Painesville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.
Born July 23, 1922, in Geneva, Ohio, to Emmelin (Williams) and Ernest Cox. She married Albert McIlrath on August 16, 1941.
With her parents as the caretakers she grew up at Shandy Hall in Harpersfield. She was a homemaker and a talented baker. She loved going on bus trips with her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Albert McIlrath of Painesville; daughter, Janet McIlrath of Peirpont; seven grandchildren, Becky, Kim, John, David, Jackie, Laurie and Jim; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Ann McIlrath; and brothers, Cyril and Ted Cox.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 14th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 15th, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Wade officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Harper Cemetery in Unionville.
