PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Robert “Bob” W. Spence, age 70, of Brookville, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.


Born April 7, 1939, in Clarington, Pa., the son of the late Don C. and Lillie (Hepler) Spence. On April 26, 1957, he married the former Susan E. Zipfel, in the Sigel Methodist Church.


Mr. Spence was a maintenance/supervisor for Rollers Plastics in Ashtabula.


He was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and building models. He was also a member of the Sigel Sportsman Club.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debra J. (Carlo) Ferrando of Catoosa, Okla. and Kathleen E. Spence of Weaverville, Calif.; two sons, Brian R. (Michele) Spence of Strattanville, Pa. and Gary A. Spence of Rimersburg; two brothers, Dean H. (Mary Ann) Spence of Brookville and Samuel “Don” Shirley Spence of North Kingsville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David M. Spence; a daughter in infancy; three brothers, John T., Armour H. and Max W. Spence; three sisters, Mary E. Marshal, Mabel E. McKillip and Dora Guth; and two grandchildren.


Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., April 17th, at the Sigel Methodist Church, in Sigel, Pa. THE FURLONG FUNERAL HOME in Summerville, has charge of arrangements.


Memorial donations may be made to the Sigel Sportsman’s Club or the Sigel Methodist Church.
