Roger C. Diedrich, age 65, finally found peace when he went to sleep on Monday, June 25, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 9, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of John and Isabelle (Patchin) Diecrich. Roger was a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. After graduating from Grand Valley High School in 1965, he attended Youngstown State University, majoring in music. His dream of being a professional trumpet player was cut short when he left to serve his country in Viet Nam.
Roger served two tours of duty from July 26, 1967 to April 22, 1970. Upon returning home, he married Karen Sue (Nims) Diedrich on July 27, 1971, who preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 1984.
On April 1, 1985, he married Joetta (Scofield) Diedrich. Together they raised three sons, Richard L. Diedrich, Randen E. Diedrich (Rachel) and Clinton Moravcik. He is also survived by his four grandsons, whom he loved with his entire soul, Joshua R. Carlson, Brandon M. Carlson, Zachary T. Diedrich and Russell R. Diedrich; his sisters, Sharon M. (Derryberry) Seger (Dennis) and Kathy Shorts (Bill); sisters-in-law, Sandy Scofield (Harmon Gladding) and Nancy (Scofield) Dudley (David); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on the 4th of July at the Seger’s residence.
A Public Celebration will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, July 14th, at the residence of Mickey and Maggie Phillips, 1624 E. Flagg Road.
