MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Joann Catherine Mika, age 75, of Mooresville, N.C., previously from Brockway and Linesville, Pa., Ashtabula, Ohio, and Plainfield, Ill., passed away on Jan. 20, 2012, from complications resulting from an accidental fall.

Born Catherine Agnes Pisarchick on May 12, 1936, in Brockway, Pa., she was the fourth of six children and only daughter of Joseph and Stella Pisarchick (Politis) and baptized Joann Catherine Pisarchick two weeks later.

Joann was valedictorian of the Class of 1954 in Linesville and then married Stephen Bernard Mika, also of Linesville in March of 1955.

Joann is survived in life by her brothers, Joseph and Curtis; her four children, Wayne Stephen Mika of Wilton, Calif., Susan Estelle Dulany of Platteville, Colo., Daniel Joseph Mika of Kenosha, Wis., and Karen Jo Kochalka of Denver, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Christopher Mika, Joseph Mika, Samuel Mika, Jamie Langdon, Stevie Fritts, Fawn Dulany, Michael Dulany, Sasha Mika and Alexandrea Mika; and four great-grandchildren, Mika Langdon, Harper Langdon, Autumn Tostenson and Bennett Fritts.

She was preceded in death by her older brothers, Joseph, Regis and Curtis, followed by her younger brothers, Leonard and Tommy.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1st, at St. Philip Catholic Church Cemetery, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, Pa., with Father Joe Sedley officiating. A reception and family reunion will follow afterward.
