CONNEAUT —
William E. “Bill” Montgomery, age 66, of Conneaut, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Saybrook Landing, Ashtabula.
Bill was born Dec. 5, 1945, in Conneaut, the son of Elmer and Lorene (Ring) Montgomery. He graduated from Rowe High School in 1963 and attended Kent State University Ashtabula Branch for banking courses.
Bill was employed as a Loan Officer at City Loan, and became Branch Manager at the former NEO Bank and Ameritrust. He was a former member of South Ridge Baptist Church and the Conneaut Lion’s Club.
Bill enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling and his love for Elvis Presley. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard and Roland Montgomery.
He is survived by his daughters, Tricia and Bryan Timbers of Glenside, Pa. and Melissa and Bob Steinberg of Glenside, Pa.; two brothers, James Montgomery of West Springfield, Pa. and Gary Montgomery of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Nancy and Fred Peterson of Conneaut and Bert “Roberta” and John McManus of Conneaut; four grandchildren, Celia, Ethan and Ella Timbers and Kimberly Steinberg; and nieces and nephews, Krystal, Kristen and Amanda Peterson, Jeremy Young and Carrie, C.J. and Colleen Montgomery.
Calling Hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, August 26th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut. Bill’s ashes will be buried in East Conneaut Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to East Conneaut Firefighters Association or the Conneaut Lions Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the Staff and Caregivers at Saybrook Landing for their care and compassion during Bill’s stay.
