ERIE, Pa. —
Eugene Henry Ford, age 95, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie.
He was born June 16, 1917, in Pennline, Pa., the son of Joseph H. and Jennie M. (Johnson) Ford and had been a longtime area resident.
Eugene worked at MB King Coal for many years. He later retired as a postal clerk for the Ashtabula Main Post Office after 27 years of service. Mr. Ford enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, going camping but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughters, Dorothy (Bob) Plankel of Jefferson and Mabel (Cecil) Frambach of Florida; son, Raymond Ford of Conneaut; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Michele Frabotta of Ashtabula; nephew and best friend, Elmer Ford; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. (Williams) Ford in 1985; son, Ronald Ford; and ten brothers and sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, August 10th, at Edgewood Cemetery, 4011 State Road, Ashtabula, with full Military Honors provided by Dewey Howlett Post #103. Pastor Ed Picard, minister of Dorset 1st Baptist Church, will officiate.
DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is handling the services.
