ALBION, Pa. —
Velma O. LePosa, age 95, of State Line Road, Albion, Pa., passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at her home.
She was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Ishpeming, Mich., to the late HV and Elizabeth Rajala. Velma married John LePosa on April 7, 1943 and were married until his death in 1976.
She was employed as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Boeing during World War II in Seattle, Wash., building B-17 and B-29's and for the Author Helen MacInnes in New York City. Velma loved to garden, crochet, bake and play cards.
She is survived and cherished by her sister, Violet Westfall; daughters, Elizabeth Anna (Kenneth) Lewis and Jennifer Jay (Allen) Mozena; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; along with many family and extended family members.
Mrs. LePosa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John LePosa; sister, Lillian Harry; and her daughter, Jeanette Lewis.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 29th, at State Line United Methodist Church, Rt. 84 and State Line Road, Conneaut, with the Rev. David Blood and the Rev. Dr. Roger Hogle, officiating. Burial will follow at East Conneaut Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28th, at THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, Ohio.
Should friends desire, remember Velma by supporting the State Line United Methodist Church in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
