KINGSVILLE —
Maxine (Newsome) Weems, age 81, of State Route 193, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at her home, with her loving family by her side
She was born Nov. 24, 1930, in McDowell, Ky., the daughter of William and Mary (Tackett) Newsome and lived in the Ashtabula area for more than 60 years.
Maxine retired from the North American Rockwell. She enjoyed garage sales, cooking southern food and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Birbage (Christine) Howell Jr. of Shiloh, Ohio, Douglas (Darla) Howell of Sheffield Township and Jimmy R. (Debbie) Howell of Ashtabula; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Draxie and Marie; and her close sister-in-law, Brenda Newsome; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin Weems; sons, Harold Howell and Johnny Howell; her parents; and one grandson, Forest Howell.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
