CONNEAUT —
Robert R. “Bob” Baldwin, age 93, of Conneaut, died early Friday morning, Feb. 3, 2012, at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Tracy and Eleanor (Macbeth) Baldwin.
Bob had been employed with the Nickel Plate Railroad for 22 years. He had started with the railroad as a machinist, working his way to the maintenance supervisor. After many years with the railroad, Bob went to work at RMI for 25 years as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church (now New Leaf) and had served as a church trustee for many years. He had been a member of the SPEBSQA Inc. 55, singing barbershop with the Erie Commodores Chorus for many years. Bob’s favorite hobbies included woodcarving and designing and building things to use.
Survivors include his daughter, Judith (David) McClain of Brillion, Wis.; two sons, Robert T. (Nikki) Baldwin of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Richard A. (Sheila) Baldwin of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Tami (Mike) Pedersen and Daryl Ticknor; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Pedersen and Lauren Pedersen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Baldwin in 2011; two sisters, Westana Stines and Bertha Stout; and his brother, Dr. George Baldwin.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 6th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in East Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., TODAY, Feb. 5th, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Fund of New leaf United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
