STREETSBORO — Joseph Peter Sasso, age 68, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Maplewood Care Center, where he had been a resident for the past several years.
He was born July 16, 1944, in Ashtabula, the son of Anthony and Marguerite (Taverners) Sasso-Dominico and had been an area resident most of his life.
He attended Harbor High School and enjoyed playing the accordion and the drums. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was honorably discharged in December of 1961.
His survivors include his son, Brett (Beth) Sasso of Ashtabula; a daughter, Lori Lynn Wilfong; grandchildren, Garrick Anthony Joseph Sasso, Collin Michael Doc Sasso and Kendal Renee Anne Sasso; a sister-in-law, Lucille Bond of Ashtabula; and several nieces and nephews, including Janice (Al) Sidbeck, Margie (Jeff) Jones and Jeff (Betty) Bond, all of Ashtabula and Kathy Bond of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his son, Monty Sasso Leonardson in 1985; a brother, Robert Bond; and his parents.
A Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1st, at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, Carpenter Road, Ashtabula. Full Military Honors will be held. No calling hours will be observed.
